A Guinness World Record Attempt
In April 2015, a British expedition will set out to climb Mt Everest by the North Ridge. En-route to the top, they will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the Highest formal black tie Dinner Party. The menu has been devised by Sat Bains, the Two Michelin Star Chef, who will accompany the team and cook the record breaking meal high on the mountain. In a symbolic gesture to thank the Sherpa community for its many sacrifices, the expedition climbers will serve the high altitude Sherpas to this delicious meal. The expedition team are raising awareness and funds for Community Action Nepal (CAN), the charity founded by Doug Scott CBE, the first British climber of Mt Everest. On this site you can find information about the team, the dinner, the summit attempt and all the good work that CAN are doing around rural Nepal. You can follow our training and progress on the blogs and if you are interested in becoming a sponsor, we would be delighted to hear from you. The total fund sought for the charity is £100,000 and we currently have offline donations from Lloyds Bank of £6k. If you are interested in donating please press the button below |
